The benefits of playing with your cat:

I just love to play, us cats like to play much more than our human-cat guardians think and here I would like to give you a few tips from a cats perspective.

Playing is the best possible way to build up a bond between the two of us. We feel more attached and in turn, we become closer when we socialise through play.

Play is a form of exercise and is a great way to make sure we do not become overweight in addition to feeding us correctly with a nutritiously balanced diet. Exercise through play also plays a part in keeping us kitties healthy. If you have an indoor cat like me, which I love because it keeps me safe, then playing is usually the only opportunity for exertion and staying trim. Cats also like to look good you know. Here is a great bundle of cat toys at a very good price, in my opinion, a selection of cat toys I really love to play with, even at my age. The Legendog Cat Toys, 10 Pcs Kitten Toys Cat Toys

Playing helps cats to become confident. Regular play periods, along with petting and grooming sessions, will help us get used to human interaction, with more human interaction we will be less likely to shy away and hide when you have visitors.

Playing also helps us to develop our hunting abilities. Hunting is a natural instinct for all cats, an indoor cat usually has little chance to express and develop this instinct. Encourage your kitty to chase a toy mouse, allow him to pounce for the ‘kill’, we love to hunt and pounce and a special cat lazer toy is always great fun I find. This helps us should we ever get lost and need to find food, just puurrfect. I enjoy the PetSafe FroliCat Stimulating Exercise Laser Cat Toy which gives me hours upon hours of fun, try it with your cat or kitten now by clicking on the link or picture in a matter of days you can have it delivered and be entertaining your cat in no time.

Just like our human guardians, cats also get a little stressed and playing also helps us to release aggression. We cats often display aggressive traits through boredom. So play is a very important solution to this, just as children need to play. Play sessions also teach us not to scratch, bite or attack. We can get a little over-excited so it is important to use praise to reward us for playing gently, as soon as we show any sign we are about to use our teeth or claws – end the play session. This will teach us that aggressive cat behaviour is best directed to our toys, and not you! Just like children, we need to learn to play nicely and safely with fun.

Top tip: Use toys that are far enough away from your hands and that way our claws won’t accidentally get you either and we will for sure focus on the toy, one of my favourite toys is a mouse or feather or something that moves on the end of a large string or stick.

All cats need fun in our lives, just like humans need it. Relieve the monotony of eating, snoozing and using our litter box by putting a bit of fun in your cat’s life. You will have a happier, more confident and less aggressive kitty, just like me. The Catit Design Senses Super Roller Circuit is wonderful for stimulating our kitty brains and it keeps us occupied for hours. Click the link or picture to order. It has small balls that the cat can chase around inside the unit.

And not topic related but just because I adore this cat with sunglasses mouse pad 😉
